As someone who started coding an app in web2py 2 weeks ago, I can say
that it is by-far the easiest framework to use. For the app I am
working on I have looked at numerous frameworks in numerous languages,
including ruby + rails, python + django/turboGears/etc, PHP + Zend,
perl + gantry, etc.

I must say that it is not completely straight forward in that I never
had any questions (as you can see by searching how many questions I
asked). However, the problems I encountered are to do with either my
ignorance, or things that I choose to do the hard way, I.e. without
using T2/T3/CAS.

You will find you can get started very quickly, and you will be up and
running making apps as complex as those you would do with PHP within a
week (depending on how complex your app is).

I bought the book PDF right-away, as I knew it would have answers to
some basic questions, and it did. This usergroup is also a great
resource, I have always found answers to my questions here. The author
of this framework is extremely involved here and is an incredible
resource.

Enjoy!
