Yes. As I feared, we converted our momentum for documentation into a call for a new wiki project. The wiki project is now the logjam. This is what happens when we decide "we can do it better" and we will stop documentation until we finish this new better wiki.
The new web2py wiki was tried and found to be lacking in basic wiki features like linking between entries. The style emphasizes "tags", "comments", and other blog-like structure. Expansive title bars, large heads, and fonts leave little room for content. In other words, a nice "demo" of a wiki-like blog, but not a working professional wiki. At this rate, we are weeks away from a workable wiki, let alone a best-in-class professional wiki. Another chance to get documentation from everybody is slipping away. Honestly, I think we have to set up a wiki apart from Massimo's site. Massimo is well-intentioned -- TOO well-intentioned. He tries to do everything suggested on this forum, mostly by himself with only a handful of significant contributors. Unless we grab the responsibility for documentation out of his hands, it will never get done simply because he is way too overloaded. I believe only way this can happen is if we set up a professional wiki w/o Massimo's blessing. -- Joe B. P.S. I'll bet we can get Massimo to bless our new wiki site "built without his blessing." Is that a meta-blessing? On Mar 3, 9:22 am, Pedro <pedro...@gmail.com> wrote: > Catching up on previous points, > I see a bit of a loss of momentum in this and it's a bit > disappointing.
