I've also mirrored t2 separately, so that people can grab a tarball - http://www.bitbucket.org/yarko/plugin_t2/
would you let me know if it works? If you grab one of the .gz or .bz2 archives these are compressed tar files - gunzip (or whatever the bz2 equivalent command is) and you should end up with a valid tar. Could you test if that tar works to instll with web2py?
