The WBMUTBB Historical Society has found another fun gem from our early days.

This is a report from WBMUTBB member in good standing Amy Wolfford about her trip to Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC.

The transmission date of the below was September 26, 1994 so keep that in mind when you see the mailing address for TAGSRWC which has changed over the years. Also, "The Mayberry Times" and "The Mayberry Collection" from Hometown TV as no longer with us but I hope you'll enjoy Amy's post.

Subject: Great Update from Mayberry Days....

Hey Kevin!! Please forward to all members:

A big *TA-DA* and <<cymbal crash>> from the Mayberry Town Band to two of our
own Bulletin Boarders who "performed" well this weekend at the Fourth Annual
Mayberry Days Festival in Mount Airy, N.C.

First, Allan -- for those of you who have never met him in person -- is a
spittin' image of our beloved Floyd the Barber!!! In his debut at Mayberry,
he ranked right up there with favorites David "Barney Fife" Browning (on the
"Elvis and Andy" video by Confederate Railroad) and Phil "Ernest T." Lee.
Allan not only has Floyd's voice down, but also his mannerisms. For Col.
Tim's Talent Time, he also gathered a large choir together for a rousing
rendition of "old 14A" in which "Barney" sang in the deepest, richest voice
ever!! Good job Allan!

Next, our own "Mayor" Lyle proudly wore his Medal of Honor after winning the
annual pie eating contest!! He said he'd been in training for a long time
before his victory!! Way to go! But will he participate in the kerosene
pickle-eatin' contest next year!!?

Again, congrats to both of you!

For those of you who missed it, Mayberry Days is not a series of games and
endless reruns, it's an atmosphere and an attitude. It's almost as if you get
to go back and live the show. Everyone is nice, they take out-of-town checks
without question and folks just relax and enjoy. It is truly and experience
that shouldn't be missed. Make plans to attend next year's special
celebration.

Hopefully, we'll pick up a few new bulletin boarders soon. I passed out
internet addresses to a couple of folks who were in the process of entering
the computer age. Even TAGSRWC Head Goober Jim Clark said he may join us,
once he upgrades his equipment.

This reminds me, I don't think anyone has ever posted some noteworthy
addresses on our bulletin board:

The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club
9 Music Square South, Suite 146
Nashville, TN 37203-3203

Jim Clark's newsletter is $8 per year per household. A must for every fan.
