No, remember Jim Nabors and George Lindsey are still around, ditto all the 
regulars who regularly attend Mayberry events.  But I'm not sure that's where 
to 
look.  The best bet we're ever going to have are the casting directors who 
were probably instrumental in putting him there in the first place.  Sadly, the 
two casting directors whose names most commonly appear in the "Schwump" 
episodes, Marjorie  Benson and Ruth Burch, are deceased.  The other two are 
Mike 
Fenton and Fred Roos.  Perhaps they, or in the case of Ms. Benson and Ms. 
Burch, 
their families or agencies, have records somewhere, but my money says those 
records are piled in a warehouse somewhere and no one wants to go look it up.  
Still, if anyone has any contacts with those two surviving directors or anyone 
close to the other two, those would be, I think, the best shot we have of 
finding out who that man really was.
