Thanks for CC'ing me Dave

I no longer work on FreeBSD full time and don't really have the capacity to
continue vpp development.
Thanks for letting us know, I'm personally sorry to hear that because your contributions are most appreciated and working with you was a great pleasure.

You are currently named in MAINTAINERS.md as the maintainer of the netmap plugin.  If you are not able to fulfill that role any longer, can you please push a gerrit change which changes the Netmap entry to:
---- %< ----
Netmap
I:   netmap
M:   vpp-dev Mailing List <[email protected]>
C:   Unmaintained
F:   src/plugins/netmap/
---- %< ----

Pawel reached out to me before creating the reviews to ask what he should do
and I suggested working in public.
Excellent

I am not aware of any active users of VPP on FreeBSD who would be impacted by a
regressions - so if Pawel's changes pass a sniff test I'd suspect they are ok.
That is what I expected.  Thanks for letting me know, I'll help get it reviewed/merged.

ALl the best on whatever you pursue.  You are always welcome in this community should you choose to participate again.

Thanks again for your excellent contributions to FD.io!

Hi Pawel,

Welcome to the FD.io/VPP community! Thanks for your recent
contributions to VPP.

I noticed that you submitted gerrit change 47056 "build: Changes in
makefiles to enabe build on FreeBSD" [0]. The VPP CI does not have a
job which builds VPP on FreeBSD, so I have no way to verify your gerrit
change(s) on FreeBSD. Based on your fix, it would appear there is has
been some bit-rot due to the lack of feedback from downstream consumers
deploying VPP on FreeBSD (in addition to the lack of CI support).

I have cc'd Tom Jones, the author of the port of VPP to FreeBSD and
maintainer of the vpp netmap plugin, to see if he can help.
Unfortunately his email [email protected] ([email protected]) is bouncing.

If you are able to share you goals and use case for VPP on FreeBSD,
that would be great!

Thanks!
