Alain, millions of scientists have worked over the last 200 years to
define rules that are so well known they are called laws. These laws
must not be violated without a very good reason. If you want to use
the disco analogy, this disco has a very strong bouncer who will not
tolerate certain kinds of behavior. Some of us have met this bouncer
and show respect. If you do not know the bouncer, I suggest you stay
out of the disco because otherwise you will get into serious trouble.
W-L and Brillouin have proposed behavior that violates the rules
(laws). As a result, they will be eventually thrown out of the disco.
It's only a matter of time.

I recognise it is not a high-level method...
I know just that it is one key phenomenon in some theories, like W-
L, Brillouin
For what I have understood, e+p->n+v demand some energy (~780keV
some say?), and maybe some momentum condition... But in lattice,
like in a disco at night, many things can happen...
Maybe some variant of the equation are allowed , with a neutrino
produced...
Beta decay may produce neutrino too ?
at least if we have some result, some theories may be ruled out, and
some gain interest.
If a 1MW LENR reactor may flood Kamiokande, some could try to make a
secret joke to the local physicist... I imagine just a Morse Code
like. QRK LENR IS REAL... played in loop along few month.
Big Physics mean big jokes.
This may be the greatest physics joke of history.
If not, WL and Brillouin may be sad, and Steven Krivit sure would be
desperate.
Me too for the missed joke.

One theoretical question about LENR is whether it is an electron-
capture process, involving the emission of a neutrino, or not.
Today we have neutrino detectors like Kamiokande, or Daya Bay,
working to detect neutrino from sun or nuclear reactors.
My question is what should be the power of the LENR reactor required
to cause a clear signal on those detectors.
If we assume heat in NiH reactors is caused by (endothermic)
electron-capture followed by (exothermic) absorption H+n+n+n (or Ni+n
+n+n...), then some decay with He4...
we could maybe compute roughly the heat produced per electron-
capture, thus per neutrino emitted.
Alain, why make this assumption? Why assume enough energy can be
acquired locally to convert e+p to a neutron? Why start with an
unjustified and unsupported assumption as the basis for a question
that has no reality if the initial assumption is wrong? I suggest
you first asking if e+p is a possible reaction.

knowing the required neutrino flux, we could estimate (depending on
the distance) the power of the LENR reactor that would be easily
detected ?
did anyone have done that computation.
NB: one trick could be to modulate the power of the reactor so the
correlation is more clear in the noise.
