Actually compared to what?

In 1992 they were running closed cells with catalytic recombiners that were supposed to keep the deuterium gas oxidized back to heavy water. Apparently something caused the converter to stop working, so deuterium gas built up, and, naturally, was mixed with the also-evolved oxygen. An article you quoted said that it might have been a piece of teflon causing a blockage. When the researcher picked up the cell, it jarred it into working again. All at once.

It's unlikely that it was from cold fusion. Just some chemistry.
