This is not added to the index system yet.

I am not happy with this. It is 23 MB which is probably too large for many readers to download. People -- including me -- seem to have trouble downloading files of this size from my ISP, Jumpline.com, although I have not had trouble downloading far larger files elsewhere. I am not happy with that situation, either.

This is made with two different scanners. The first was a heavy duty fast scanner that went through a copy of the book that has been chopped apart, with the binding removed. Unfortunately that generated a grainy version in what appears to be the fax machine format CCITT4. That's 300 dpi black and white. Some pages were missing or truncated, so I scanned them again with my HP scanner, in 300 dpi grayscale. That's better, but it would take me the better part of forever to do the whole book with this method.

I have gone to extreme measures to reduce the file size, which makes the pages difficult to read, and it makes them flash and redisplay sometimes. It makes the grayscale pages that I scanned almost as bad as the CCITT4 ones.

I may have to break this into two books to make it more legible, where each part is output in a less compressed format.

The page size is the same as the book itself, 6.5 x 9.5 inches (16.5 x 24.1 cm). If you print pages, tell Acrobat to leave the page size as is.

I may upload a small segment of the document output in higher resolution tomorrow. For now, anyone with the patience to download it should please inform me --

Can you download it?
Can you read it?
Do the figures appear to be intact?
