>Effective June 12, 2002, your monthly rate for Bell Sympatico High
>Speed Edition(TM) Internet service will allow 5 Gigabytes (GB)
>download and 5 Gigabytes (GB) upload of bandwidth activity.
>If your bandwidth activity exceeds either 5 GB download or 5 GB
>upload, an additional charge of $7.95 per GB will be applied
>to your Sympatico account.

So they changed your contract. IANAL, but in most developed
countries, this is against the law unless you agree to it. However,
check your original contract carefully for loopholes that allow this
kind of thing.

>Based on your Internet activity
>patterns over the past 3 months, this charge will probably not
>affect you.

If your past week's activity is anywhere near typical, then that
statement is a blatant lie. If in one week you can exceed a limit,
which they assure you wouldn't affect you over a whole month,
something's very wrong.

Looks like I was right about 30GB being small, too. Your usage
pattern would fit well into a 30GB plan IF managed properly.

>Needless to say, my DSL service is changing Wed. to a local ISP.

Good idea. Corps listen to their wallets, and you can consider
yourself lucky to live in an area that doesn't have a local
unregulated monopoly.
