Just to double-check - did you create the value in the following location?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\

It is supposed to be a local machine-specific setting, so it takes effect there.


Since you probably did so, I would check to see if you have a password set in
any of the following locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\Default\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\<your-username>\
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ORL\WinVNC3\

Depending on how you are running it, a password could be configured in any of
those locations.
