Point the VNC server (Xvnc) at a font server running on the Solaris machine.
There should be messages in the archive on this topic. Quick summary:
  1) Ensure that 'xfs' is running on Solaris.
  2) Set the font path in Xvnc. You can do this in several ways:
     * when starting Xvnc, use the -fp option (-fp tcp/_hostname_:7100)
     * when logging in (or before running app), use xset:
xset fp+ tcp/_hostname_:7100 [append to font path]
xset fp= tcp/_hostname_:7100 [replace font path]

7100 is the port used by the font server.

As a side note, Xvnc can't use the Folio F3 font format; this is a
proprietary format used in the Sun server (Xsun).
