There are many "known problems" with the AT&T version of VNC for Mac
- and quite a few "oddities" too!

I suggest you check out the ChromiVNC Server:

http://www.chromatix.uklinux.net/vnc/

I find it a lot more stable than AT&T VNC, even though it does have a few
"oddities" of its own...
