I completely agree.  However, AT&T has not shown any interest in
producing updated releases or even talking about doing so for quite a
while.  I think it is the community's responsibility to create a fork
which will fill the role of the "pure" VNC at least until AT&T decides
to pick the project back up again.  This is the role I see TightVNC
taking.  Constantin has done a fine job of adding features,
incorporating user submissions, fixing bugs, and maintaining an all
around great drop-in replacement for the AT&T release.
