I see more different platforms, all with the communication protocol in the
middle:
- Windows Server
- Xvnc / X11 server
- Native viewer (X11, M$Windows, handheld, ...)
- Java / browser viewer

That gives me the next idea. Has someone ported the Xvnc to Windows? That
would produce a nice Xserver!
