Most probably not the issue then; there are odd things that can happen, but
it's not a good idea to go on a witch hunt until you've found the correct
witch...

IN the logs, the most likely one to show an event is the system log, followed
by the application log.  I am *hoping* that it flags an error before dying.
Not only an event form VNC or the video system, but a network event logged
within seconds of when it chokes could be the cause.

One other thing - when it's safe to crash your computer - could you grab a
*tiny* bit more of the blue-screen? the first 8 digits or so are usually good,
after that its all the debug information that no one but someone trying to run
a shuttle launch would worry about.
