: : I would have only thought it would be a problem if the VNC window was on the : SIS card? Also I haven't had any other trouble with the card with other : apps. (Plus it worked in 98) : : > On reboot, what kind of error : > mesages do you have in the log (if any prior to the generic "unexpected : > reboot"). : : Which log should I look for it in? : : : Anyway when it's safe to crash my computer I'll try disabling the card and : see what VNC does. : LOL
Most probably not the issue then; there are odd things that can happen, but it's not a good idea to go on a witch hunt until you've found the correct witch... IN the logs, the most likely one to show an event is the system log, followed by the application log. I am *hoping* that it flags an error before dying. Not only an event form VNC or the video system, but a network event logged within seconds of when it chokes could be the cause. One other thing - when it's safe to crash your computer - could you grab a *tiny* bit more of the blue-screen? the first 8 digits or so are usually good, after that its all the debug information that no one but someone trying to run a shuttle launch would worry about. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
