I know nothing of java. I have the server running on a win2k machine behind a lyncsys router/firewall. I am trying to run the viewer on a solaris machine. The two ways I know of connecting or through a browser and executing the viewer on my unix box. First, I tried running the viewer on my workstation at work and I get a window asking for address or machine name, I entered the ip address of my machine at home with a :0 for display. I get nothing and it just sits there for a while then gives me a timed out message. The second way is that I go through my browser which is java enabled and I type in the ip address and port number (5800). I get the java security screen that ask me for password. I type in the password and get nothing.. just stays on the password screen and later i get a timed out message. From inside my network at home I have been able to connect to the server and run vnc so I know it is nothing wrong with the way my server is set up at home. Any have any suggestions or comments on what I should check or whats wrong.
