Do you have the "QuerySetting" key set in either/both?? -----Original Message----- From: Robert Jones [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, November 16, 2001 9:35 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: VNC server and AuthHosts in Windows
I'm trying to configure WinVNC to block all IP address except a few. I have successfully done this on my NT server, but the Windows 95 machine still lets any IP address connect. Am I missing something for Windows 95 that is different than NT? I exported this straight from the registry of the Windows 95 machine REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3] "AuthHosts"="-:+192.168.1.82:+192.168.1.58:" and this is from the NT machine REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3] "AuthHosts"="-:+192.168.1.82:+192.168.1.58:" I have stopped and restarted (using winvnc -remove -install) the Windows 95 server each time I changed the registry, yet I can still connect no matter what IP address I come from. The Windows NT machine rejects the IP address that are not the two specified, so I'm at a loss to explain the inconsistency between the two systems. Is there some peculiarity to Windows 95 not in the documentation?
