Gary

I had one of those awful manual data switches that I used to use for
switching between 4 servers, and all the keyboard, mouse and screen colour
errors almost everytime I switched between the servers.

I heard about VNC some time ago installed it on ALL the servers. (NT4, Unix
(SCO) and Linux) Now I don't have any problems. I live with the booting
problem, as this only happens about twice a year, then I use the switch.

All I made sure of, is that the resolution and colour depth on all the
servers is identical.

Recently I installed VNC at home so I could support the servers & users
remotely. It did work fine (but slow because of the connection speeds), but
a recent firewall upgrade, the ports I had open have not been left open.
