Would someone out there elaborate a little on http://services.simac.be/vnc/gina.html, please? It sounds intriguing, but it's not obvious a) where one starts from or b) where one winds up.
You have to have either 1) Windows NT Server Terminal Server Edition or 2) Windows 2000 with Terminal Services enabled for it to be of any use, right? It won't turn a plain vanilla Windows NT Workstation or Server or a Windows 2000 Professional into a multi-user machine, will it? Having one of those (NTS-TSE or W2K w/ TS) and installing the stuff at http://services.simac.be/vnc/gina.html then gives you a Terminal Server Client session on an X station, right? Is the net benefit that you are no longer limited to Microsoft stations when you want Terminal Services but are unwilling or unable to spring for Citrix Winframe / Metaframe? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Glenn Mabbutt" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2001 5:00 PM Subject: RE: Terminal Server > See http://services.simac.be/vnc/gina.html - same idea, but config is > somewhat manual... <snip> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the line: 'unsubscribe vnc-list' in the message BODY See also: http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/intouch.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------
