A liitle more info. would help since my mind reading skills are a bit rusty
;-) .

Are you running the vncserver script or using inetd?

If using inetd, does Mandrake 8.0 have xinetd or does it still use inetd?

If running the vncserver script, is it the newer one in init.d or the standard
vncserver script?

What steps do you follow to launch the script both when it fails and when it
works?

Anything else you can tell us to help us see what you are doing?

Hello,

I posted a message related to my trouble with the installation of the
Vnc server. I didn't receive any answer. If you think that the answer
to my trouble lies in some documentation, could you tell me where to
find this documentation ? Perhaps, I did not express my self clearly but
I really need some help.

I quote the message sent. I apologize for such a question but I need
this program to work. Thanks a lot.

Fred

I try to run the VNC server on a Mandrake 8.0 box. I put the approriate
files in my local directory. When I launch the script, it seems to work
fine. I tried the server and ran the client program. It failed... I
have got authentication problem altough I specified my password with
vncpasswd.

Has anybody the solution to this problem ? Where could I find some
documentations ?

Thanks a lot for this newbien question
