We have been using VNC to provide remote desktop access on Windows 2000 based
platforms. I have had a few users point out that when they secure their
workstations, they sometimes get a window capture missed. I managed to reproduce
this with the following:

a. Establish the VNC connection as per usual to a Windows 2000 client.
b. Open a document such as notepad/wordpad and make some changes.
c. Without saving your changes, attempt to log off the workstation. I used
CTRL-ATL-DEL followed by Log off.
d. Select OK to confirm this and you will be prompted to save changes to your
document.
e. If you now wait for 5 seconds, an End Task window should appear, but VNC
fails to see it, only updating the screen area over the save changes dialog box.

This does happen on other occasions when the End Task window appears, but this
is only one I can easily reproduce.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour and if so any ideas about where to insert a
hook to capture it?

Regards

Robin Johnston
