If they can add some refinements to handle issues on the windows side then they have a possible winner. I believe the big (best known?) competitor in the remote-admin market is Symantec and their single platform pcAnywhere at roughly $150 per seat.
My big issue is Security. The WinVNC server currently binds itself to all NIC addresses. As far as I'm concerned that's a big no-no for administering machines which run the firewalls (or other similar) services that help keep in-in, and out-out.. Yes the AuthHosts can be used to force dropped connections, but what admin really likes unnecessary open ports? This is a great app and a fantastic piece of work. Obviously I would love to have these types of refinements make it into the base code; but if the Tridia folks do it and are willing to support it then I think kudos to them. Marc.
