If you have a system to host it on, you could also use the DHCP and DNS
servers from the Internet Software Consortium (www.isc.org), or others, and
do dynamic DNS updates from the DHCP server. This requires no special
provisions on the clients to keep an up-to-date DNS. I'm fairly certain
that W2000 can do dynamic updates in the DNS server, but I don't know about
it's DHCP server (I avoid Windoze as much as possible).
