The funny thing is that the system could be pinged, ftped,
networkneighourhooded httped etc, except one thing: once either (vnc-)
disconnected after local or remote log out of the active user or reboot of
the remote systeme it wouldn't accept any login. As mentioned in an earlier
posting miraculous things happened after a third independent system was
added to the network and nothing else was changed, it worked - it still
works, and I can't reproduce the problem any more. Appologies to the
community - I'm simply baffled.

Is there any way, once a system has been rebooted, and VNC is running as a
service, to access the machine? If the machine is on the network it is
visable even at the login screen so VNC should be running since it is a
service.
