Hi,
I'm trying to remotely install WinVNC to Windows NT 4.0 workstations via a
DOS login script. I've managed to generate a silent install response file
(setup.iss) by running the Installshield program with the -r switch, then
using the response file to do the silent install, i.e.:
<setup directory>\setup.exe /S /h1[<iss file directory>\setup.iss]
On attempting to use it, it installs like a dream, but then after observing
the files as copied to their respective directory for about a couple of
seconds, they disappear! Running through the installer without the silent
response file in the same context works fine and the program remains
installed, but the silent installation does not persist.
I've searched the Installshield knowledgebase (support.installshield.com)
and the VNC mailing list, but with no joy. Has anyone else come across this
and if so, any ideas??
Chris.
