Hello,
I'm having a problem receiving the server image while connected between two
specific machines running WinVNC 3.3.3R9. The server is Win2K, the client
is Win95. I am connecting from home to work through VPN over a cable modem,
then initiating the VNC session.
I am able to connect to the VNC server - I know this because I have had
visual confirmation on the server side that I am controlling the mouse - but
I never see any of the display on the client. All I get is the grey window
with the message "Please wait - initial screen loading" (during this time I
have mouse control of the client), then after about 60 seconds the viewer
closes with no error messages.
I am able to successfully assume control of another machine on the network,
and several other clients on the network are able to successfully assume
control of my server. In all of these cases, the server desktop displays
normally on the client. In addition, the exact scenario (home pc to work
pc) that is failing now was working last week. I don't beleive I have made
significant changes to the configuration of either machine since then.
My network support group has tried a variety of things including changing
the display settings of the server, and running WinVNC as both a service and
in app mode, but I always get the same result.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,
Angela
