SSH is available on Windows and Mac.

When I was trying out the Mac clients I tunnelled VNC through SSH without
any problems (apart from speed - my Duo is very old).
I have not tried contacting a Mac VNC server through SSH (my Duo is already
under quite a strain with just the VNC server) - anyone done this?

I have to admit to not knowing specifically about SSH on the various flavours
of Windows (95/98/2000/NT/XP etc.), so I can't be sure, but many here do use
SSH over Windows (of some form) and will no doubt tell you so...

More generally, with regard to the "hacking" issue, one of the biggest fears
I see with VNC is not so much the password cracking (though, Jonathan's points
are clearly valid) but how open the entire RFB stream is for viewing.
Every mouse movement, every keypress, everything that appears on the screen is
there for all to see (well, OK, anyone that has the ability to 'sniff' the
connection). -So if you then log into another machine via the VNC connection,
all keypresses that you use to type an entry password into that new machine
are sent in the clear, for example (not that it's a very sensible thing to do,
mind... you should just SSh to it directly rather than via VNC -but there could
be reasons why you cannot do this).

Basically, running VNC through some encryption is highly desirable...

Looking at RC5 at the moment... any other comments Jonathan?

Bye!
