I have seen this happen when using vnc between win2k boxes. I am controlling
a dozen or so servers from a laptop w/ wireless lan connectivity. Anytime a
new server is put into place I will tweak it and monitor it using vnc. After
it is in production for a couple of days we will send it to its destiation
and I will pass it over to be monitored via snmp. I have used multiple nics
in my laptop with the same results. 3com 10/100, 3 com 10, Intel 10/100,
Zircom 10/100, Hawking 10/100 and Hawking 11mb wireless adapter. I have
connected my laptop to the same switch as some servers to eliminate a
firewall/proxy being at fault. It seems that I have the same issue where the
session stops, and I can restart it. It will be open for a couple of minutes
and hang. Checking "poll full window" resolved this issue for me. I have not
had any problems since. The longest session has been maybe 4 hours at a
time. Hope this helps. Jason
Config ->
Windows 2000 Pro base, sp1 and sp2
I have connected via:
PPP, LAN, PPTP, L2TP, IPsec VPN. I don't remember having any issues when
connecting via PPP as it was a dialup connection. All other methods of
connection were established through my NIC and would exibit the same results
as described above.

Subject: VNC Connection Freezes / Drops
Relatively new to VNC (great product) and I am not sure if this is the
correct place to ask this question, but I am experiencing the following
problems.
VNC Version: 3.3.3r9
Connection: WinNT4 SP6 to Win2K
1. Periodically the connection will drop the session causing a need to
restart the connection.
2. Frequently, the cusor will freeze and the connection will need to be
closed and restarted. Note: The white cursor freezes, the dot cursor
remains active and will allow me to close the window to restart the session.
I've reviewed the FAQ and did not anything specific to these problems.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
David
