When you say that the wallpaper dissappears on connection and reappears on
disconnection, is it the correct wallpaper for the logged in user?
When you say "failed connections", I assume you mean those terminated by an
authentication failure at the VNC login stage. Is this the case?
Is a user logged in when the problem occurs? Is the tray icon visible?
