I'm using WinVNC 3.3.3r9 as a service under Windows2000.
Normally I don't use the ServiceHelper, because there is
only one user on this system (and I have enough symbols in the tray ;-)).

With WinVNC 3.3.3r7 everything run as I supposed (without starting the
ServiceHelper):

I could lock the system and logoff.
After that I was able to reconnect and disable the lock.
=> The wallpaper was always there.

Since I use the new release 3.3.3r9 the following problem appears
(when the ServiceHelper is not running):

I'm able to logon/logoff/ or lock/disable the lock as before BUT:
always when I logon the Wallpaper disappears and only the defined
Background-Colour is shown on the desktop (the wallpaper is still
chosen in the properties but not shown)

I tried to set the "RemoveWallpaper" Option to "0" in the Registry but it
didn't work.

The only way to correct this bug was to start the ServiceHelper.
With the ServiceHelper running, everything works fine.
