Aideen> Hi,
Hello.
Aideen> Thanks Clayton for pointing out the broken link.
Actually, the broken link was pointed out on the VNC mailing list a couple of
months ago I believe...I even carried on a little discussion there about
it at the time... :)
Aideen> Chuck, I guess you're no longer at IBM. Shall I remove the old link?
Probably not a bad idea. I'm not sure why that web site dissappeared and I
haven't been able to motivate myself to setting up another page with the old
information since I don't work with AIX boxes any longer (which is unfortunate
because I do like them a little better than the Solaris boxes I'm working on
now).
I had a couple of people mention to me in the past that they'd set up a site
to put the patch & other AIX specific info up there, but it seems that none of
them followed up.
I have the old patch and the HTML that I had placed on that website sitting
here, if you or anyone else wants them.
Aideen> Do IBM have any website for open source binaries?
Hm...not sure, perhaps Clayton knows.
If not, I might eventually get around to setting up a new website for my patch
again, although I won't be able to maintain the patch for newer versions of
VNC obviously, so it may be of limited usefulness unless someone else steps up
and starts maintaining the AIX patch. I'll copy the list on this reply in the
hopes that someone out there will be willing to help out now.
Aideen> (I've just found a wealth of docs, articles and links on their linux
Aideen> website!)
Yup, they were just starting to get involved in that when I left. I'm very
glad that they are continuing with it.
Chuck
