I am about done with the remote install of the VNC server on my remote W2000 Pro machine, there is "only" the small part about setting the password left... - I have copied the files from a local VNC server install (NT4 WS) over to the remote machine. - I have run WinVNC -install from the command prompt of that machine, success - I have tried using the REG COPY... method to copy the registry settings over to the remote, reports success - I have done net start "VNC Server" from command prompt, success - I have tried accessing the server with the VNC client, not working But the server refused to connect because it reports that there is no password set... So I hooked up my W2000 laptop on my home LAN and ran the REG COPY function between the NT4 machine and the W2000 laptop, then examined the registry. Even though REG reported success, there is no trace of the HKLM\Software\ORL key on my laptop. Exact command used for testing: reg copy HKLM\Software\ORL \\eagle2 HKLM\Software\ORL \\armadillo eagle2 (source) is my NT4 WS where I have installed the VNC server and set the password. armadillo (dest) is my W2000 laptop What am I doing wrong here?????
