So then the only way to make the icon not appear for win9x is to modify the
source, so it seems.

I see where you're coming from. But in the novell environment we have here,
I set up access rights thru the registry so the IT guys only can change
properties, but anyone else cannot change the properties. I suppose though,
you're much more comfortable working the registry than I am. It's one of
those evil MS things I try not to fool with. LoL
