As Jonathan points out, a new desktop is started when you connect through
inetd, so the normal -shared option won't work.

However, have you tried using the vncconnect program to make the connection the
opposite way round?  Run a listening viewer on your machine and get the user to
run "vncconnect <host>" where <host> is your machine.
