I hope that's only an optional install method...

If you don't have Microsoft Installer installed and try to install something
using it, it tends to blow up. I use Nortons AntiVirus Corporate and their
new 7.5 version uses MSI to install itself. We don't use IE as our default
browser and it was at version 4.x. I have had a couple of NT workstations
choke on the NAV install and grudge up the registry, requiring a re-install.

Norton's answer is to install IE 5.x first, which puts the MSI on the
system. Doesn't matter if IE causes problems elsewhere...

Besides other problems with some of this stuff, I really don't like the way
companies push software at you and Microsoft is one of those companies.

Subject: VNC Installation on Win32

It would be great if the next release came out as Windows Installer package.
If you own Visual Studio (as I am sure the programmers really do), then the
Visual Studio Installer aka Windows Installer aka Microsoft Installer is a
free add-on.

The benefits to going this route would be
1. You could push it out to remote Win32 systems using whatever technology
you'd like.
2. You could do a silent or scripted install
3. You could make it part of an unattended server/wkstn setup.
