hey guy, We have Solaris 2.6 here. doing an install of oracle requires us to
type
xhost +

The display for our systems is unix:0.? where ? is the vnc display number.
for e.g. 5901 = unix:0.1

This worked for us.

Subject: Export DISPLAY Problem

We've loaded VNC, and have it running on our remote Internet server. We've
been able to successfully log in with our password, by pointing the browser
interface to http://our.IP.address:5801.

We're trying to run the Oracle database installer program, but we can't seem
to get the "export DISPLAY" command right. We've tried:
    export DISPLAY="our.IP.address:5801"
    export DISPLAY="5801"
    export DISPLAY="our.IP.address:1"

None of these commands seem to redirect the display output to the VNC
server, so it can then pass the display on to our browser.

We've come to a dead halt with our Oracle installation as a result, so any
suggestions would be gratefully accepted!
