Did everybody read my message on Dec. 1 and think, "Whhaaat?"
If I get this to work, it will be an answer to a lot (well, a few) of the
questions coming in here.
Now I know for certain that Xvnc has the generic US keyboard initialized as a
default in ./Xvnc/programs/Xserver/hw/vnc/kbdptr.c
Unfortunately, the text appearing in response to my key presses have very
little relation to what I type. At least the text is always the same for any
given keys so it's not just random data in uninitialized storage.
Another thing I think I forgot to mention is that the mouse works just fine.
dtlogin is simply another X client. It should be getting events like any other
client.
I cannot debug it since imake fails to make Xvnc's Makefile correctly and I
haven't found the time to find out why.
Thanks to anybody who gives this a second thought.
Carlyle.
