free java viewer redirects to 100 plus java port
apache redirect will only partially work :-)
leaving you hanging for part 2
you need a paid version to use same port as java viewer :-)

Hello Steve,
thanks for the message, I am not sure if this is the prob in my case.
Since i want to reach my PC from a Network which only has a port 80 open
I have set up an dyndns Address vor my PC. Then I have set up apache as
reverse proxy so that all requests on the dyndsn address are redirected
to localhost:5801. There is no firewall on the pc but the firewall on
the router is very restrictive.
Since in my logs I can see that the applet gets loaded but I can not
find out what causes the problem... Permission?
Any idea?

Hi,
I can't seem to get the java viewer to work when
trying to come in from my external IP. I get my
java applet to begin but after 30 secs or so I
get the red "X" on top left of applet.
then the status bar (bottom left corner...) reads
"applet vncviewer /VNCViewer notinited
Everything is fine when I use an internal IP from
within my network.
Has any one an idea what can cause this behavior?
Thanks a lot in advance
Michael
