After much confusion (on my part) and various NAT Router port forwarding
changes, tweaks to my firewall settings across 3 machines etc.,etc. I
finally managed to get RealVNC to work on all three of my PC's on my LAN.

My current network looks like this:

Internet --->Cable Modem-->LinkSys Router--->PC 1 (running Windows Vista32
Home) - Running Viewer
                                                              |__ PC 2
(running Win2K Pro) - Running VNC Server
                                                                |__PC 3
(running WinXP Pro) - Running VNC Server
                                                                  |__ PC 4
(running UBUNTU Linux)

My original idea was to monitor my son's machine (PC3) and monitor and
manage both my son's and my wife's machines (PC3 and PC2 respectively)

I'm not exactly sure how many steps I had to go through to get these
machines to talk to each other via the VNC Viewer but eventually I had to
select the "No Authentification" options to get PC3 to allow PC1 access.
Everything I attempted via secure means failed.

My question though is regarding a strange anomoly I noticed when my son
plays video on his WinXP machine. He is using Windows Media Player to play
movies and when I monitor his machine with the VNC Viewer via my Windows
Vista machine, his video is upside down in the player. Not the player
itself, just the video. This is really weird to see. Does anyone know
-why- this is occuring and if there is a fix at the Viewer's end or the
server end to allow the Viewer to see the video right-side-up?
