Hello Robert:

The Straight answer is yes and no.

YES.- it's possible that he can see
(and operate) your machine remotetly.

NO- It's not possible that he does so without your knowing.

There is a row of "tiny icons" on the bottom right of you screen.
one of them is a white box, with a green "V" and a smaller "n"
above a small "c". This "tiny icon" is the interface to the vnc server.

if someone connects, it will turn into a black box. As long as the
box is there and is white, your pc is ready to accept connections.

As long as someone is watching, the box will be black.

The RealVnc people have made sure of that.

Obviously you are worried about someone using/watching
your machine. So here some other things you can do:

1) Change the password
     - click the white Vnc box with the right mouse button.
    - in the pop-up menu select options
    - in the "Vnc Server Properties" window, select the tab "Authentication"
    - Select the "VNC Password Authentication" option
    - click the "Configure" button next the "VNC Password Authentication"
option
    - Enter a password.
Now he will have to ask you for the password before he can connect.

2) Tell VNC to prompt you when he tries to connect.
     - click the white Vnc box with the right mouse button.
    - in the pop-up menu select options
    - in the "Vnc Server Properties" window, select the tab "Authentication"
    - Select the "Prompt local user to accept connections" option
Now you will get a popup asking you to allow connections before
one can be made.

Guess that is what you wanted to know
Jerry
