First a work around..... you are thinking about using the javaviewer to connect from outside (at some point) from a machine where you might not be able to install the viewer? this isn't an issue that often as you dont even really need to "install" it. I keep a copy of the windows client on my usb keychain and i can almost always run it from there. but i digress.... as long as one of the java clients works you can connect to 192.168.1.2:5802 wait for the client to load and then type in the box 192.168.1.3.
the java client basically is like a copy of the vncviewer that runs inside your browser window. in fact you could load the java client from *anyone's* vnc server and then use the client to control your machine. Other stuffisis: Just to clarify something, when you conect to http://192.168.1.3:5803. what do you see? do you see an applet symbol? Does the java client load in the browser but then not work. i dont remember if this was in an earlier post or not. but this may help to pinpoint the issue.
