Usually when Redhat changes major numbers (7.x to 8.x) binary compatibility is not guaranteed. If you rebuild from source you have a file that you know is set up for the libraries on your system. Another thing you can try (thought you loose some of the features of the never version) is to install the vnc-3.3.3r2-39 RPMs from the RH install CDs (or rpmfind.net). Another thing, be patient.
