I guess that part of my post wasn't clear, that's what I do now.

I'm trying to avoid having to install SSH on the client so I can
simply just use either a lower port for the java viewer, or
simply carry around the binary viewer and use it at a low port.

With *no* added external programs... ( this is the key )

I have it on my workstation to get out, but Installing SSH on all
the workstations isn't practical due to internal reasons.

Internally it doesn't mater as we are on the same net, and no port
filtering at the stitches. But id like the option to get outside from
any machine, which IS filtered.

Yes its my network, so I'm not pulling a fast one ( evidenced by
the installation of SSH on my workstation ), but changing polices
on the users workstations, or firewall, isn't practical due to political
reasons, nor is it safe to open ports *just* for myself anyway. ( I'm
currently tunneling out port 80, which is open to normal users... )

To be able to change the ports on the fly ( i.e., not a recompile )
to *any* port and encryption would be a nice feature. Adding
the port feature wouldn't boat the code hardly at all. Encryption,
it may. Thus the suggestion for it being an external plugin, as I hate
the idea of bloating out VNC just for the exceptions..
