It is frustrating that a low-feature application like VirtualBox is
able to that out of the box but qemu is not.
I'm a virtualbox user as well.
As I understand it, virtualbox has a built in bridge that is used for this
purpose and makes the various network configurations somewhat transparent.
Having professionally supported qemu/KVM/libvirt in enterprise products, I can say it is a bit more complex to set up, but it's much more flexible and powerful. When you add in PCI
pass through, I'd say it's a worthwhile trade
