The prescribed way of doing this is working for me. I double tap "confirm clear section" with one finger and then immediately I hear the "confirm clear section" repeated and I stay right there or check to make sure I am in the same place and double tap it again. Most of the time it appears to me that the focus remains there so by just double tapping again I complete the process. It would be interesting to know why some people have this problem and some don't but that seems to be true with most bugs or problems.
