Hi,
I totally agree it makes me nuts not having the scrub gesture in this app I’ve
lamented its absence for the past year or so. glad it’s not just me.

Subject: RE: Deleting a book in the current version of the audible app

I posted the instructions yesterday.

1. Tap the delete button at the top, to the left of refresh

2. Find the Edit Mode button by moving your finger to the left from a
book title and double tap or split tap it once you found it.

3. Now find the Delete button (not the one at the top) but the one to the
right of each book title. Double tap it and you will get the prompt asking you
whether you want to delete the book.

For me swiping to the Edit Mode button and double tapping it and then swiping
to the Delete button does not work. I have to physically move to the buttons on
the screen. If you swipe you will find that they are not in order, e.g. I think
the book title is read first, then if you swipe right the Edit Mode button is
announced, but it's actually physically to the left of the book title near the
edge of the screen and then if you swipe right again the delete button is read
which is located towards the right edge of the screen. They are, however,
fairly easy to find if you move straight left from the book title and straight
right.

I really think this is an unfortunate step back in the accessibility of the
Audible app and I hope Audible will listen to our feedback and put the action
rotor back.

Another thing I don’t like is how the Jump Back button does not stay a Chapter
Back button when you double tap the CoverArt for the book and use it once. I
don’t know if everybody knows that, but normally the button to the left of Play
is Jump Back and to the right of Play in this version is a Jump Forward button.
If I want to jump back to the beginning of a chapter I can double tap on the
CoverArt area which takes up a good portion of the screen about in the middle
of the phone. Then the Jump Back button turns into a Chapter Backward button
and the Jump Forward button becomes a Chapter Forward button. This is a nice
feature, but as soon as I double tap once on Chapter Backward or Forward, the
buttons go back to Jump Back and Jump Forward. In other words if I want to jump
back 2 or 3 chapters, I have to double tap on the CoverArt, then double tap the
chapter backward button, double tap once or so on Jump Backward to get back
into the previous chapter, then I have to double tap again on the CoverArt to
change the buttons and again double tap on Chapter Backward. I think it would
be better if the button stayed on Chapter Backward either until you change it
or at least it should stay for longer so it’s possible to jump back multiple
chapters quickly without having to bring up the Chatpers list.

Lastly, and this was also not in the previous version, I always wish I could
use the scrub gesture to go back out of a book back to the main screen with my
book list, but it is necessary to double tap on the Back button at the top left
since the scrub gesture is not implemented in the app.

Regards,

Sieghard

I to, am not sure how to delete books in the audible app since the update. Can
someone tell me the work around to delete them? Thanks in advance.
