I also found that with the latest version the action rotor and the ability to
flick up or down to delete a book is gone.

I called Audible this morning and reported this, but I think more people need
to do this and hopefully also send emails. When I called the customer service
number I this time was talking to a lady in Jamaica in a call centre and while
she said she would file this I am not so sure how effective that is.

Now, here is what I found works:

1. Double tap the top delete button which is to the left of the refresh
button.

2. Unfortunately it does not even say that it is activated or selected
any more. But if you now check the list of titles by moving your finger to the
left of the title (don’t flick, drag it straight to the left of the title) you
will find an Edit Mode button.

3. Double tap or split tap this button.

4. Now check to the right of the title on the right edge there is a
delete button beside each title. If you double tap or split tap on it after
first tapping the edit button you will be prompted to delete the book.

Cheryl, could you maybe check once more really carefully which version you have
by going to Settings and then look towards the bottom. The most current version
is 2.2.1 (351).

I currently have quite a few books downloaded, but if you really have this
built and the action rotor still works I think I will have to bite the bullet
and delete the app completely, reinstall it and then redownload my books to see
if this brings back the action rotor option which really was great as far as
deleteing books is concerned.

Also, just to be on the same page, do you have it set to download the book as
one large single download or do you still download in parts?

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi,

Running iOS8 on an iPhone 5s and the latest build of the audible app I can’t
reproduce your results for love nor money. Device is selected and tapping the
delete button merely causes the book to open and start playing. Further more
the rotor doesn’t even show me an action option in here.

I am using 2.1.1 and am having no problem. . make sure you have double-tappped
device so that it is selected. Flick right and you will hear "delebe button
deactivated". Double-tap it with one finger. This activates the delete button
but doesn't delete anything. When you flick right again you will come to
something that says "delete" with a bookname. When you double tap this it says
"remove" and you double tap that. You get an alert "are you sure". Go right to
the remove button and double tap it.I think this is the way it has worked for a
while now unless we are using different versions. Once you have deleted
everything on your device, if you want to do that, the main delete button goes
back to deactivated. Otherwise, if you deleted some books but still have some
on your device, you will have to double-tap that delete button again to
deactivate it. Since you are talking about interacting with the delete buttons,
are you using a braille display and/or bluetooth keyboard? If so, it could be a
butg so that those are not focussing on the right button. For me, delete is
working the same as it has for a while. If it's a problem with a keyboard or
display, it might be a bug there instead of with Audible specifically.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.

I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper

thrown in the trash!

Then God gave me a new heart and life:

His joy for my despairing tears!

And now, every day:

"This I call to mind,

and therefore I have hope:

The steadfast love of the Lord

never ceases;

his mercies never come to an end;

they are new every morning;

great is your faithfulness."

Indeed, I am experiencing the same bug. Something to report to Audible I guess.

If anybody else finds a workaround for deleting books that we don't longer one
or an old device I am happy to hear about them. Thanks in advance.

All the best,

Hi,

forgive me in advance if I’m just stuck on slow today kids but I’m just curious
about the following. when in my library view where I can see the titles
resident on my phone in the current version of the audible app fir iOS which I
believe is version 2.2.1 whether I interact with the first delete button which
used to activate the ability to delete or the delete buttons which appear near
each title rather than deleting the book it instead begins playing of said
book. someone suggested trying edit instead but that isn’t working here. Am I
missing something ridiculously obvious here or is this now broken?

thanks for any clarification anyone can offer here.
