I just read an article yesterday, it showed up in my RSS feed, that everything being equal, turning your brightness down to 10% from 100% doubles your battery life, from 3.5 hours to 6.5 hours. The thing I liked about this article was that it gave real numbers. Of course, the 3.5 to 6.5 hours is dependent on how you're using your phone. I didn't save this article.

If your after battery life, buy yourself one of those USB battery
chargers. An 1800 mAh battery is smaller then a deck of playing cards
and can recharge a dead iPhone to full power but most people just use
them to give you a refresher charge. I can use mine even wile I'm
talking on the phone and you can look at the battery status indicator
and hear something like 72 percent battery power. Charging. That's
cool as your walking down the street and talking on the phone. One of
those would do you far greater good then messing around trying to
squeeze 2 minutes more out of the battery when what you really need is a
recharger. my iGo charger has a recessed button on the top. It's
bright red says my sighted wife. The case is black to match my phone.
it has 2 USB ports as well as a flip down wall plug so you can use it at
your desk at work as a wall charger which can recharge your phone wile
it rechargers it's internal battery. Pull the charger out of the wall,
flip down the AC prongs and drop it in your pocket. I use the cable
that came with my phone and I bought one of those third party
retractable cables. When it's at it's shortest, it's about 4 inches long
and when fully extended is about 2 feet give or take but the charger,
the cable and my iPhone 4 can fit in my pocket and even be recharging my
phone at the same time. The charger is blind friendly in that when your
phone has been fully charged, the charger automatically disconnects and
it's probably good for several recharges. So, you could actually more
then double your talk time etc.

Walmart and other big box stores sells these kind of chargers and maybe
everybody and their sister on line too. There is end to places who
would love to sell you junk for your iPhone.

This always generates a bit of discussion on the list, but the screen
curtain is a privacy feature and not a battery saving feature. It
doesn't dim or turn off your screen. I don't have anything but anecdotal
evidence, but I run with the screen curtain on all of the time, and I
don't find it helps with the battery at all.

Hi, Recently there was a message about turning on screen curtain and
saving battery life. I didn’t pay close attention to the message, but
I’m guessing this is also a possibility for having your battery last
longer on a charge.

Hi Ramy,

I doubt such apps will do much despite their claims. I would just follow
normal battery saving techniques like making sure you turn off Bluetooth
and especially WiFi if you are out and about and don’t use it. WiFi uses
up a fair amount of battery. Also make sure you don’t have any GPS apps
running unless you need them and don’t set location based reminders like
“Remind me to call John when I get home”, these use location services
and drain your battery faster.

If that is not enough you would be much better off trying to find either
aa battery case or an external battery which would allow you to charge
your phone when it gets below 10%, if you try and find something with at
least 1500 to 1800 MA you should be able to charge your phone back to
100% if you start when you get the 10% notification.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi all:

Please I need to ask if anyone find a good battery life saver for I
phone? I found some programs but they didn’t do anything.

Any ideas?
