I don't know how to accomplish the first thing you want to do, but as for the email thing: Do you only want email on the iPhone from your Gmail account, or do you also want to be able to view email from your AT&t account? Either way, if you want to add another email account: 1. Go into your "Settings" app and double-tap on the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" button. 2. Flick to the Add Account" button, and double-tap it. 3. A bunch of account types will come up on the screen. Select the "Gmail Account" option, and double-tap it. 4. Fill in the account details and double-tap the "Next" button. 5. You'll see three options in this next screen which can either be on or off. They are: "Mail," "Calendars," and "Notes." I think these might be the Gmail versions, not the iOS versions, but I could be wrong. I think I may have "Notes" turned on, but I'm not sure. 6. double-tap the "Save" button, and you should be good to go.
There are many other options which you can configure in the main screen of the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" settings. I hope that these instructions will help you out.
